Hans Ovesen

Born 1943 in Copenhagen. Married to actress and painter Lone Lindorff.

1970 Graduate Diploma from the Town Planning Department at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture.
1970-88 Appointed as research fellow at the Town Planning Department, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture.
1986-87 Appointed as member of the Danish UN committee: UN International Year of Shelter for the Homeless.
1986-87 Research on town planning and housing for the poor in Jakarta, Indonesia, initiated by UN International Year of Shelter for the Homeless.
1988- Research fellowship converted into the present appointment as associate professor.
1988-95 As a novelist and screen writer elected as member of the fiction writers’ committee of the Danish Authors’ Society.
1992-95 Appointed as committee member of the Network of Architectural Research.
1992 Consultant to the Danish Ministry of Environment on a report about historical and architectural values in Copenhagen.
1993-95 Grant from the Danish Research Council of the Humanities for the research project ‘European Cities under Change’.
1993-94 External examiner at the Urban and Rural Planning Department, Ardhi Institute, Tanzania.
1995-97 Appointed as committee member of the Nordic Journal of Architectural Research.
1996- Reviewer of literature on architecture and town- and landscape planning at the Danish weekly Weekendavisen.
1996 ‘Key lecturer’ at the international Culture University 1996: To experience Culture.
1997-2001 Member of the editorial committee for the magazines ARKITEKTEN and ARKITEKTUR DK.
1997-2000 Appointed ‘external professor’ at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University.
1999 Visiting professor at the Edinburgh College of Art, School of Landscape Architecture.
2003- Committee member of The Danish Guitar Society.
2004- Appointed as member of the school board of the Royal Danish Academy, School of Architecture.
